ModifyHealth - an IBS-Friendly Meal Delivery Service
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a chronic condition that affects the large intestine. It is characterized by abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, and constipation. IBS can have a significant impact on a person's quality of life, making it difficult to work, socialize, and enjoy everyday activities.
The Low FODMAP Diet
There is no cure for IBS, but there are treatments that can help manage the symptoms. One of the most effective treatments for IBS is a low FODMAP diet. A low FODMAP diet is a diet that restricts foods that are high in fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and polyols (FODMAPs). FODMAPs are short-chain carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed by the small intestine. This can lead to the symptoms of IBS.

Please note: if you have liver and gallbladder issues, keep an eye on the fat content of some of these meals. Some of the meals are very high in fat, so I end up splitting them into two meals and add some Low FODMAP vegetables to the meal along with some chicken breast for extra protein. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions.
